Speed

Speed is the ability to reach a high velocity of movement in whatever mode of locomotion – running, swimming, cycling, etc.  Do you want to finish first?  At Alpine Fitness, we can make you FAST!   

There are two variations of  basic speed training; assisted and resisted speed training.  Assisted helps improve stride frequency while resisted helps improve speed-strength and stride length.  At Alpine Fitness we will increase your athletic speed by improving the following things: 

  • Starting ability (acceleration)
  • Stride length (increase after initial acceleration)
  • Stride rate (number of steps per time)
  • Speed endurance
  • Sprint form and technique
