Returning to exercise after 50 can be overwhelming
Knowing how to start exercising always seems to be a bit overwhelming, especially as we start to get older. Not only do we worry about the where and what with exercise, but as our bodies start to age, the HOW to exercise becomes even trickier. When thinking about how to begin exercising again after 50, do you find yourself worrying about being able to do the things you used to, and if it’s safe? Do you wonder how your body has changed, and don’t know where to start? Those are real concerns when it comes to adopting a more active lifestyle into our 50’s, 60’s, and beyond. Luckily, we have a great resource to help us get moving again.
Get Help Building a Base to Start Again
Did you know there is a way to get PROFESSIONAL input about how to begin exercising again? We can receive a FREE personal training consultation. This does not mean we have to commit to paying for a personal trainer at the gym, though that is an option. At a personal training consultation, a personal trainer will help determine your body’s strengths and weaknesses through a Functional Movement Screening (FMS). During the screenings, we do a few simple movements and the trainer evaluates our capabilities and movement patterns. This will allow us and the trainer to put together a plan to increase our exercise capabilities, implement the proper exercise form, and know the RIGHT time to add weight to our exercises. The FMS is meant to help us know exactly how to begin exercising again after 50.
