You might have seen the classic movie Finding Nemo. In this Pixar Animation Studios production, the Great White Shark Bruce says the famous lines, “Fish are friends, not food”. The first major argument is that fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acids which act as an anti-inflammatory and medicine for many other diseases such as ADHD, Depression, Dementia, Heart Disease, and Arthritis. Family Kept Baked Salmon Teriyaki Recipe
Called “ Baked Teriyaki Salmon”, “Mama’s Salmon”, and so many other nicknames over the years, this fishy concoction is bound to have the whole family begging for seconds. Likewise, its easy cooking standard of just tossing it into the oven for 20 minutes is what makes it such a family favorite. In addition, my mom would make the best baked teriyaki salmon once a week growing up– one filet with teriyaki sauce and the other with ranch dressing on top. Believe it or not ranch, salmon is another fan-favorite comfort food that can be made by simply substituting out Yoshida’s Teriyaki for ranch dressing. This would be perfect for any health nut, fish guru, busy mom, or someone trying to impress their significant other. Although simple, this staple recipe has been passed down for generations in my family. In short, now I am sharing it with yours.
Baked Teriyaki Salmon Ingredients
12 oz salmon filet, skinless if preferred
6 tablespoon olive oil
3 lemons
½ cup teriyaki sauce (I use Mr. Yoshida’s Marinade and Cooking Sauce)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon rosemary
Baked Teriyaki Salmon Baking Instructions
(1) Initially, preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
(2) Place a large strip of tin foil on a baking sheet.
(3) Rinse the salmon fillet, pat dry, and place in the center of the tin foil.
(4) Next, drizzle over and massage olive oil into the fish.
(5) Then, cut 2 lemons in half and squeeze 3 halves’ juice over the entire fillet.
(6) Then, spoon teriyaki sauce generously over fish.
(7) Sprinkle Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Salt over the teriyaki sauce.
If Rosemary is fresh skip to step (9) and if dried continue to next step.
(8) After that, dump the dried rosemary into one palm of the hand and with the other palm rub the dried spice between them. This simple step helps to release more flavor before sprinkling on top.
(9) Break apart fresh rosemary and sprinkle on fish.
(10) Slice the remaining 1.5 lemons and lay slices flat covering the fillet.
(11) Next, pull up tin foil and fold edges to create a dome shape enclosing the contents. Stick a fork twice in the tin foil to allow ventilation.
(12) In conclusion, bake for about 20 minutes. Serve over Jasmine rice and steamed veggies. Lastly, do not forget to enjoy this crowd-pleaser baked teriyaki salmon!
