The first workout is always the hardest. The first workout is so hard because many people don’t know where to start. With so many fitness fabs coming and going, how do you know what’s the best one for you? The most popular gym workout trends so far are either low or high intensity workouts. Running outside is the most popular for at home workouts. No matter what type of workout you do, make sure you are safe and drink lots of water.

High Intensity workout

what is an intensity workout?

People will choose high intensity workouts when they are rushing on time or as a daily workout routine. This style of workout will make you sweat. Make sure if you attempt this style that you have a basic understanding of how your body likes to workout. You can also meet with a personal trainer to help you learn the proper ways to perform the movements. This will help you not become injured and keep your body active.

Examples of high intensity workouts

The following is an example of a high intensity workout.

  1. High knees: 45 seconds on
    •  15 Seconds rest
  2. Mountain climbers: 40 seconds on
    •  20 Seconds rest
  3. Push ups: 30 seconds on
    • 30 Seconds rest
  4. Jump squats: 30 seconds on
    •  30 Seconds rest
  5. High knees: 30 seconds on
    • 30 Seconds rest
  6. Burpees: 20 seconds on
    • 40 Seconds rest

This workout should be done about 3 times to get the best results. Also feel free to add more or less depending on how your body is feeling. Take longer brakes if needed but try not to have a break longer than 60 seconds. If your break is longer than 60 seconds your heart rate drops making the other movements harder to perform.

Low Intensity Workout

When doing a low intensity workout you will use a contestant flow of energy more than bursts. You have no breaks in between each movement. Low intensity workouts often are less harsh on your body. People will choose a low intensity workout when they go to the gym or want to take a class.

This style sometimes takes time due to your body moving slower. You can do a 15 minute low intensity workout but most likely will not get as many benefits out of 15 minutes that you would have for a 1 hour low intensity workout. Low intensity workouts are also less harmful to the body and anyone can do them. You also on average burn more calories in a low intensity workout. This is a great place to start if you are new to working out. You can find different workouts to try on YouTube. You can also take classes in a group or get a personal trainer. No matter how you do low intensity workouts remember to breathe and drink lots of water to stay safe.

Examples of low intensity workouts

There are many activities that are considered low intensity. Yoga workouts or swimming are the most popular. Below is an example of a low intensity workout routine.

  1. speed Walk: 3 Minutes
  2. Bicycle Crunches: 30 seconds
  3. Chair Squats: 60 seconds
  4. Push-Ups: 30 seconds

Try to repeat this 4 times to get the best results.

The problem

The big problem with any intense workout is getting started. First, find a personal trainer or video to help give you ideas on how to properly execute the movements. Personal trainers are best for this because they can physically watch you and give you tips right from the start. Second, actually performing an intense workout. Finding motivation after not working out is the hardest step. Great ways to find motivation are giving yourself a reward after you work out, setting goals you want to reach, and doing workouts your body enjoys. Last step is getting into a routine. For some morning workouts are better but for others night workouts are the best. Ask lots of questions and research to find what works best for you.
